Blue Hydrangeas and Pink Glass

I have two large endless summer hydrangeas that
produce the most gorgeous shades of blue and purple hydrangeas.
They make simple summer bouquets.
The kitchen window has some pink glass votives,
an old pink aperitif glass and a sprinkling of beach glass.
Single small blooms fit in the tiny old glass bottles.
I like how the pink looks with the blue.
A summery windowsill vignette...
The little star fish with the pink ribbon came from a seashore wedding we attended.
Some basil from the garden is usually found on the windowsill too.
I found the pink votives at my friend Bridget's store, Rustique.
When the pink hybrid tea roses are blooming I add them to the mix.
I found an old creamery box at a NH barn sale
and it holds the small milk bottles nicely.
Pink and blue blossoms
Big bunches of  hydrangeas on the island.
A bouquet in the living room.
These are in a Bennington (VT) pottery pitcher.
Simple summer decorating~with hydrangeas and roses from the garden.
PS.
Look what I found in a barn shop in New Hampshire~
A coveted tole tray in rare turquoise!
I just added it to my Etsy shop.
This color is hard to part with as it is soooo pretty!
(note: this SOLD same day I listed it)
I also got a pair of real deer antlers at the same barn sale.
They are in the Etsy shop now too.
You just never know what you are going to come across in an old barn!

  5. I love this post! Everything is so warm and inviting. I just planted an Endless Summer, hope it does well. I can't wait to have blossoms to bring indoors. Love your pink and blues. The votives are very sweet. My daughter just brought home a bunch of beach glass. Wonder if she'll part with some? I have an old cheese box and a few old milk bottles. I'm going to see if mine will fit. Such a cute idea. OMG! I scrolled down and read your last post. Gotta tell you, I absolutely adore your garden house! I am always picking up old windows. Would love to try and make one similar. That iron fence is such a find. I am putting one around a garden area. I had to buy it. It was on sale, but still a bit pricey. Plus, yours is old. Mine is just made to look old. I've been rambling, but last but not least. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  6. Amy, had to come back after reading your comment on my blog. Love your new finds. I have done my kitchen/family room with pops of tqs. Painted my island and hood fan. I was a bit hesitant at first, but now I love it. Thanks for adding me to your sidbar. I don't know how to do that. (dummy me), I just always have to check out my favs. now and then to see what's going on. Would be so much nicer. I've got to figure it out.

  9. The hydrangeas look so lovely in the pink glass on your kitchen windowsill. My hydrangeas are looking just pitiful right now....they have brown spots due to all the rain we have been getting! I will have to visit your blog and enjoy the beauty of yours instead.

  11. I tried to comment earlier today but got an error message and forgot to come back. I love all the hydrangeas. My endless summer did not even bloom this year. I noticed other hydrangeas in our neighborhood never bloomed either. It must be that it's been too dry this year and too hot.

Love that tole tray...I can see why it got snapped up.

  12. I'm so loving your beautiful hydrangeas. When I was a child, we lived in this old house with a huge blue hydrangea bush and another one that was white. Every summer, I looked forward to those blooms, so I enjoy seeing yours now!
